- We have it on the school calendar at the beginning of each year.
- We display fliers as reminders as the time approaches so that it is a whole school planned celebration and everyone feels part of it.
- We form a small committee to help with initial planning.
- We plan part of the maths program for term 3 activities around the particular theme that is connected with Reach for the Stars.
- We plan a day during Literacy and Numeracy Week for a whole school celebration.
- We arrange whole school graphs or whole school simultaneous activities to display the results of our investigations.
- We contact the local Messenger newspaper to photograph and record our event.
- Classes work with buddy classes to support each other.
- We invite parents to share in the celebrations.
- Older students collect and collate and enter data on the computer.
- Students write articles for the school newsletter, highlighting data and interpreting data and stating trends and conclusions.
- Results are given out to each class to discuss with students as appropriate to developmental levels.
- Some classes implement further investigations based on the findings.
